The-Dream – “Equestrian” (NSFW) [VIDEO]

June 11, 2013 in News by Hip-Hop Wired

Now that Def Jam finally decided to stream The-Dream's string of NSFW visuals using Vimeo, the show can go on unhitched. The singer-songwriter's latest small screen adaptation is for a song aptly titled "Equestrian."

As you can imagine, the Grammy-nominated crooner is referring to a stallion of a different variety on the track. That is made apparent in the accompanying treatment. In fact, The-Dream doubles your viewing pleasure with a pair of curvaceous vixens.

To say that the two women look quite fond of each other would be an understatement. The two actually get very touchy-feely throughout their time on screen. We're sure the fellas won't be mad at that.

We somehow missed the previous installment of this series for "Turnt." Find that bonus on the following page.

Also be sure to supper The-Dream's album IV Play, via iTunes. Remember that this is the inspiration behind these videos.

See "Equestrian" below. You're welcome.

The-Dream – Climax EP [DOWNLOAD]

June 2, 2013 in News by Alvin aqua Blanco (@aqua174)

The-Dream isn't letting having an album in stores right now stop him from dropping free music. The Def Jam crooner releases a free EP titled Climax that features a couple of previously released tunes and a couple of all new joints.

Only four tracks long, the previously unheard records are "Com'on" and "Thirsty Whore." At least from the title of the latter, you can't say this guy isn't consistent with the content of his music. Peep the raunchy video for "Pvssy" for another example.

The-Dream's new IV Play album is in stores. Listen to and download the Climax FreEP below.

Jadakiss ft. The-Dream – “Big Boy Dialogue” [LISTEN]

May 30, 2013 in News by Chris Thomas (@ChrisThomas266)

Jadakiss has been speaking on his forthcoming album Top 5, Dead or Alive for some time now, but we receive the first true indication of it's existence with the first single "Big Boy Dialogue."

With a bit of assistance from The-Dream, Kiss kicks rhymes that only a seasoned veteran could.

This isn't one of those R&B collabs that strictly caters to the ladies. Instead, the LOX rapper gives fans a gritty jam to usher the summer in.

The "Knock Yourself Out" spitter recently spoke on Top 5, Dead or Alive in an interview with Shaheem Reid.

"Definitely a little more critiquage [sic] on there just due to the name being Top 5. Want to make sure that I have the top features on their or the people that I like their bodies of work," said Kiss.

We think long-time fans of the New York native will like this one. Hear "Big Boy Dialogue" below.

The-Dream ft. Big Sean & Pusha T – “P***y” (NSFW) [VIDEO]

May 30, 2013 in News by Chris Thomas (@ChrisThomas266)

How wholesome can you expect a visual for a track called "P***y" to be? Our thoughts exactly. For your viewing pleasure, The-Dream debuts another promo video for his recently released album, IV Play.

Big Sean and Pusha T assist the singer-songwriter on the record, but none of them appear in the footage.

Instead, we get to see a woman with a particularly rotund backside twerk and oil herself up to the hypnotic song. As a heads up, we suggest that you avoid watching this in the workplace at all cost. You're welcome.

Both the regular and deluxe versions of IV Play are available via iTunes now. Fans support is needed, because first weeks sales forecasts say the Grammy winner will only move between 18-21k copies.

The-Dream – The Man Documentary Pt. 1 [VIDEO]

May 23, 2013 in News by Chris Thomas (@ChrisThomas266)

IV Play releases next week, but before then, The-Dream gives fans a look at his personal life in a short documentary called The Man. This will be the first of three installments done in conjunction with VICE subsidiary, Noisey TV.

In part one, Nash speaks on his upbringing in North Carolina, and how moving to Atlanta's Bankhead area as a adolescent molded into the person he's become. He places emphasis on individuals who greatly influenced him in his life time — particularly his grandfather and his mother.

"In 1988 my house burned down," recalled The-Dream. "At the time I was staying with my grandfather, one reason being that I was a boy and my grandfather felt like I needed to be around a man at that time."

The "Falsetto" singer witnessed the patriarch of his family rebuild the house from the ground up, and says "it was good for me to see [that] just because the shell of something is broken doesn't mean the soul is."

Four years later, his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, she lost her battle with the disease at the end of 1992, and his grandfather would pass away just two years after.

The-Dream claims these detrimental losses sparked his drive to do music professionally. See more in The Man below.

The-Dream ft. Twista – “IV Play” [LISTEN]

May 15, 2013 in News by Chris Thomas (@ChrisThomas266)

The-Dream's latest single and title track "IV Play" has become an early fan favorite. But thanks to FSD, we discover that the version set to appear on the singer-songwriter's upcoming album IV Play isn't the original.

A few cosmetic differences in the arrangement and a verse from Twista are distinguishing characteristics, along with a significantly song length. The epic bridge is also replaced by a brief, but potent verse from the Chicago native.

There's no word on why the "Overnight Celebrity" rapper was taken off the sensual cut, but he proves that his ability to rock a R&B track hasn't wavered. Fortunately, there's no shortage of rapper appearances on the album's final lineup.

Fans can expect features from Jay-Z, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Gary Clark Jr., Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Big Sean when The-Dream's project releases May 28.

The-Dream ft. Jay-Z – “High Art” [LISTEN]

May 9, 2013 in News by Chris Thomas (@ChrisThomas266)

The-Dream makes a great case for himself in the race for the summer anthem with "High Art," featuring Jay-Z. This was easily one of the more highly anticipated tracks from the Grammy winner's fifth studio album IV Play, and we'd say the bouncy record delivers.

A memorable chorus chants "I make love to my girl, then I get h**h with my n***as" over sweeping production full of synth-heavy chords and knocking drums. The-Dream's lyrics pretty much stick true to the hook, as he sings about smoking with his friends and enjoying the company of his lady afterwards. Hov, on the other hand, keeps the money talk coming with bars that are out of the common man's pay grade.

"High Art" joins previous singles "Slow It Down" featuring Fabolous and "IV Play" as the advance offerings from IV Play. The rest can be hear when the LP releases May 28. Fans can expect guest appearances from Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Big Sean, among others on the project.

Turn your volume of to the highest decibel and listen to "High Art" below.

The-Dream Proposes R&B Supergroup With Chris Brown, Miguel, Trey Songz & The Weeknd

April 10, 2013 in News by Chris Thomas (@ChrisThomas266)

The-Dream is no stranger to crafting R&B classics, and hopes to cement a few more with his forthcoming album IV Play. Having had a hand in the culture in variety of ways over the past decade, the singer-songwriter and producer recently shared his dream to create a R&B supergroup with a surprising cast during a sit down with The Grio.

The topic arose after he and host Kyle Harvey discussed his work on Watch The Throne, and if he's ever considered doing a collaborative project with anyone.

"I would actually love to probably put together a super R&B group," replied the Atlanta native. When asked who he would want in the group, he named himself, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Miguel and most surprisingly, The Weeknd.

Despite drawn comparisons between the two and rumors that he and The Weeknd weren't particularly friendly, the Grammy award winner actually spoke highly of the Toronto crooner. "What I love about The Weeknd is he stays on his own course, he has his own carved-out thing in place and I mean as him as a person."

"Musically, you can't really be affected by who's somebody saying you sound like, because we all somehow kinda sound like each other some way."

Hear The-Dream speak more on this R&B supergroup and more in the full sit down with The Grio here.
