Tips & Info for Track Submissions
Don’t make the track too long or too short. Generally speaking 3-4 minutes is good. You want to make the listener hungry for more and don’t want to bore them with a lengthy track, no matter how good you think it is. In fact, if your track is longer than 4 minutes we may have to shorten it for you to make space for everyone.
Only send us your hottest material. You are going to have your track up there with the best in the industry so you’ll need to stand up and be counted. Send us your hottest, most current material you’ve got.
Quality in production & recording. You want to stand out for the right reasons so make sure your production is up there with the best and only send us the highest quality mp3 recordings you can. 320kbps is best but don’t go any lower than 192kbps.
Promotion, promotion, promotion! If they like your track, trust us they’ll come knocking. so make sure you can be found and easily contacted online. It should go without saying but we’ll say it anyway, make sure you have a myspace, facebook or other social networking account. Google your name and your track to make sure you come up, and if you don’t then take the necessary steps to make sure you do. You never know, it might be an industry executive that wants to come knocking at your door.
More promotion. When a Mixtape is released featuring your track, you will receive an email containing an “html Promo Code”. This is simply a piece of code that you can copy and paste into any website that accepts it, like myspace, facebook and many more. This allows people to see,(delete comma) and download the Mixtape directly from your blog or website, which will in turn expand your reach. Be sure to copy and paste the complete “html Promo Code” including the tags on each end and everything in between.

Remember all Mixtapes come with web and print versions of cover art so that you will look very professional.
Increase your Fan Base. Have no doubt, if your track is hot, people are going to be hitting you up from exposure gained by featuring on one of our Mixtapes. In addition to making sure you can be easily found online, capture all email addresses and contact information of people who hit you up and like what you do. You can then use that information for your future marketing campaigns. Remember, nowadays record executives want to see proof that you have a following. Building a fan base and being able to prove it) is key to your success.
Choosing a Mixtape Series. When you go though our submission process you will be able to select a preferred Mixtape series on which you would like your track to feature. Please understand that we can’t feature every artist on their preferred choice. We sometimes have to make very tough decisions and it is no way a reflection of what we think of your music. All final decisions are based on what tracks we think will complement each other in keeping with the branding of a particular series. However, quality of production and recording does play a big part when it comes to selection, so please keep that in mind. If you don’t get on your preferred Mixtape this time, don’t give up!
